With such a trashy cover, I kind of thought it’d be more fun. Decent but not incredible.

I don't know what I expected but definitely not how good it was. First let me say that Zylas (it took me like an hour to find his name) is amazing and I LOVE him. I love how his simple quirks of being lazy and curious are portrayed (by napping all the time and taking apart a tv). It makes his that more interesting. Also he is clearly physically and mentally strong but not an ""alpha male""". He is protective but reasonably so.
For Robin, she is incredibly weak. And I actually like that. I love how she doesn't immediately adapt to the magical work. Like many of us who would be plucked from their normal life she is not very strong. But she had already shown a lot of improvement and that only in the first book. I'd love to see where the next books will take her and Zylas developing relationship.
What I do think was very annoying was how much of the plot seemed the same. They got into the same situation like three times.
But oh well.
I haven't had as much fun as reading an urban fantasy since mortal instruments and that was like 6 years ago so that says a lot.
2nd read: after reading the entire spellbound series im starting this series again. I just can't get over how good this book is.
3rd read: IS menTaL IllNess InnIT
4th read: is there gonna be a day I'm completely sick of this book? Maybe?? Not this day though I still love it to death

From Monsters to Demons. I have went down the rabbit hole and might not return soon. I discovered Monster Bait romance and stumbled upon the Guild Codex on WEBTOON. Naturally, I had to find the book and I’m glad I did! Robin might not be in love with Zylas but I sure am. They have amazing chemistry and I can’t wait to see how their relationship evolve. She went from feeding him cookies, him refusing to submit to a human and now he’s contracted to protect her. I couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait to read the next one.

I'm really enjoying this author. This is another spin-off from the first series I started.

I think this is supposed to be New Adult but it’s more tame than some of the YA I read.

I didn't like the beginning much, tbh, because Robin was such a doormat. I was shocked when we found out she was 20, because frankly she seemed like she was 15. This is an adult, who is somehow incapable of showing some spine, hiring a lawyer, and getting the shit her uncle is stealing from her. She cowers in front of him and everyone else, and I came pretty close to DNF.
But it got better. Basically, as soon as she got away from her uncle, it got better. She still is a bit of a doormat though. Her fucking cousin I need to see Robin develop a spine. Stop trying to make friends with people who betray her, and start using her skills and tools (hello, demon!) to get back what belongs to her.
