i almost DNF this one because of the MC. she's so childish and always crying at any stressful moment. definitely a struggle to get through, but i powered on for zylas.

A 2.5 read from me, but I’m rounding it up because I think I would have enjoyed it more in a text version. I hadn’t realised how much I just skip over more adjective-laden writing, but it’s excruciating when you have to listen to every word. For 8 hours. I liked the concept and the world-building, but found the main character grating. Especially the way her internal monologue was characterised by the voice actor. I’m interested enough in the plot to read the next book in the series, but I’m definitely going for text not audio next time.
Easy reading adventure/ urban fantasy with maybe some light yearning. Reading these in publication order per Carol's instructions.
