Love love LOVE this book! It was timely, discussing issues like book banning, white nationalism, anti-Semitism, as well as other issues currently facing this country. While discussing serious topics, there was also some humor throughout the book. It was such a great reminder of the importance of education, of access to information, and of how much power books hold. Highly recommend to everyone!
My favorite quote was this one:
“I think your scared your children are going to open a book and discover the truth. They’ll realize the Holocaust happened and that slavery was worse than they ever imagined. They’ll find out that both men and women like sex, and gay and trans folks are just regular people. These seem to be the things you’re trying so hard to hide from them. Why is that?”

Total wish-fulfillment. I only wish people would listen and change their ways of thinking like most of like most of these characters did . Sometimes it's just nice to hear a fairy tale.

I liked & enjoyed this book for the story that it was! As always, love a book that is told from the perspective of multiple people. There’s very lovable characters and very clearly hate-able characters, and I think it describes the harm of books bans & racism & homophobia in an easy to digest manner, which means it’s also one of those books where the target audience is perhaps not me (however still loved the story!!). Kinda predictable but also unpredictable at the same time. Would recommend to a friend.
