What the actual fuck is this book

Disturbing. Upsetting. Made me feel physically sick in parts. But it was also very good, in it's way. The comparison to Lord of the Flies is horribly accurate. I'm glad I read it, but I don't think I'll read it again. Ultimately, a lot of mixed feelings.

About a fifth of the way into it, I guessed two things that would happen at the end, and dreaded them (one more than the other, tbh). And those things both happened in a roundabout way, but so much worse happened first, and, basically, yikes.

This novel one of the more disturbing things I can remember reading. Definitely do not recommend this for someone of a sensitive disposition. And I know putting this in a spoiler thing defeats the whole purpose of the warning, but as some people might look anyway:
Spoilerbe wary about reading this if you're an animal lover.

One thing which is more to do with the edition I read/the translation/something else(???), is that about three times a sentence would just be suddenly cut off. I don't think I missed anything major because of this but I also can't be sure.
