Very well paced out. There was not any moment where I felt it was filler or un needed. Romance was great and it was just very fun

A very fun and short read. This was the first book I’ve read about pirates, and I easily found myself immersed in its world. The overall story was a little predictable, but I didn’t mind it. There were a few shocks around the end that even I didn’t see coming though. I’d recommend this book to someone that wants a quick read that still drags you into the story with a tight grip.

Pretty good book overall! The rising action(s) weren’t particularly amazing, but the climax and falling action(s) were executed well.
Upon finishing this book, I don’t see how the main character Alosa could be sold as a “female Jack Sparrow”. The only things the two characters have in common being they are both pirates and both enjoy being pirates. Both characters are great, but it’s difficult to compare the similarities of their personalities; they are on opposite ends of the spectrum so take the selling point with a grain of salt.
A classic enemies to lovers trope, which I feel was executed pretty well.
The conflicts had good structure but maybe could’ve been beefed up by better execution of scenes/dialogue. A handful of scenes felt out of left field. 3.5/5⭐️
