I didn’t finish this book. I had to DNF it because it was THAT bad. I’m convinced the editor wasn’t present for this whole book. The writing was weak—telling rather than showing. There were massive inconsistencies with the plot and characters. Keera is the most annoying MC I’ve ever read. She’s constantly making the dumbest mistakes when she’s supposed to be the “best.” All the men in this book are creepy. There is a random kiss scene between her and the Shadow that doesn’t benefit the plot at all. The world building had the potential to be strong, but the author didn’t take the opportunities to explore the world. We’re forced to suffer through Keera’s alcoholism and her inner thoughts. I’m so disappointed. Booktok is wild for recommending this one.
