The writer had a long-term friendship with Kelly and she talked to him over the years about her life and career, asking only that he wait twenty-five years to publish what she told him.
In the book you will find nothing about her marriage, children and what she got up to once she became a princess.
A book that is actually very boring, it does not really come with new facts, it is more a book to be part of you’re the Grace Kelly collection, if you are a fan.

I completely enjoyed this classy account of this lovely woman. If you like Grace Kelly I think you will appreciate this comprehensive biography.
On a Grace Kelly fix right now and this book does a great job of adding context about her life. I wish there had been more about her childhood and young adult years, more about motherhood, and less about her acting career. Although as this book indicates she really wanted to be fulfilled in her own right. Not sure that she really acclimated to fame and her life was cut so short. There were more journalists to attend and account of her wedding- 16000- which was more than coveted WWII. Learned the term Monegasque - aka a citizen of Monaco
There were parts of this book that were engrossing, and made me love Grace Kelly more and more. However, parts of it read like a glorious ode, and years (decades) of Grace's life are skimmed over. If this is because the family was not forthcoming with interviews and information, then perhaps he should have called the book "High Society: the professional life of Grace Kelly" and limited it to her professional life. Copious details of her early tv appearances (and plots of her movies) are included, but so little about her adjustment to married royal life is included. A good book, but definitely not excellent as a look at GRACE.
I wish I had known more about Kelly prior to this--this goes on and on about her movies, and not much about her marriage. I would have loved more photos of her, both in her career and her private life.
The author is absolutely in love with the subject. Great sourcing.
Revisiting this book on audio as part of the Audible Plus program. This was probably the first biography I read about Grace Kelly and why I had originally given it such high marks. Years later, and after reading more and more about the American actress/Monegasque princess, I realize that this book is sort of a hagiography. It just skims the surface of her personal life, and hardly anything is written about her life in Monaco besides official appearances. Surface-level biography of a woman who, on the surface, had it all. There are much better books out there on the late princess.
This was an informative overview of Grace Kelly's life for someone who only vaguely knew who she was before reading. However, Miss Kelly was a rather uninteresting person or the author somehow made her seem like it... I don't know enough about her to know which is the case!

Informative but boring. Heavy focus on career.
