Loneliness. Grief. Sex. Hiromi Kawakami's "The Ten Loves of Nishino" is an exploration of unhealed trauma and its impact on building lasting relationships. From the perspectives of the ten women who all in their own way "love" Nishino, Kawakami builds a portrait of man beset by grief and arrested development. Each of the women, of varying ages and status, reflect on their relationship with this elusive man as they are all equally intrigued and repelled by him. Through them, Nishino's past pieced together and it quietly revealed why, in his search for love, he can never find it.

This is not as strong as Kawakami's "Strange Weather in Tokyo", but it continues to build on the themes of loneliness, the search for acceptance, and the desire to be loved.

This book is quite similar to "The Nine Chambered Heart" . I liked the latter one more.

Did not love it or Mr nishino, it was well written and enjoyable but a tad boring near the end

This was so good even though some letters were really slow to read
My fav ones were Osaka tower and Keenly !! Both made me cry which seems to be a common occurrence with Hiromi Kawakami books
