I really liked the perspectives of each woman. Not a fan of Nishino but it was an easy and interesting book.

Mr. Nishino is quite possibly, the worst person on earth. He is manipulative, piece of crap man that tends to manipulate women against each other and tends to thrive off the energy that each woman has given him. However, the way that most of the story didn't focus on him, but rather on the woman that pursued a relationship with him is what made it stand out on its own. One of the things that does irritate me (or give me the heebie-jeebies) is that most of the woman don't blame him for his actions, rather THEY BLAME THEMSELVES for starting the relationship, EVEN THOUGH THEY DIDN'T WANT IT IN THE BEGINNING!!!

Here we have chapters narrated by different women that chronicle the many affairs of Yukihiko Nishino.
I was honestly entertained at first, but then towards the middle the anecdotes from these women talking about their encounters with Nishino became repetitive and boring—and honestly, that ending felt so unfulfilling, and it fell flat compared to how the book started.
Of course, i liked how simple and clear the prose was, as is the usual for Japanese authors (except for Murakami), but the storyline just didn’t do well for me, sadly.

nishino is a complete weirdo, literally a rapist and the stories were boring and followed the same storyline every single time: the women don't love nishino, don't even like him, but they fuck and wish they were in love and suddenly they are, though nishino has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and treats women like garbage.
he's a cheater who is always super vague in everything he says and the fact that women keep falling for him is unrealistic imo.
the characters are so bland and the book just feels so misogynistic. also, the guy is in love with his sister and she literally breastfed him when he was already a teenager.
i get and usually like weird concepts and strange situations, but nishino was simply so unlikable, i hated everything he said and did.
and yet his behavior is portrayed as something normal, or even desirable. horrendous.
also he's such a man-child, crying when he doesn't get what he wants.

the only plus-point is the writing style and format. i fairly enjoyed the short chapters and quick prose.

tldr: 3/5, short stories, cool concept, boring execution

The Ten Loves Of Nishino is a book in which each chapter is narrated by a different woman from a man named Nishino’s past. The chapters do not follow a linear structure, so Nishino's life is given to us in an almost fragmented way. Each chapter reveals a little bit more about Nishino -- his past, his relationship with other people, and his family.

Even though each story is told from the perspective of a different woman, they blur together, as each one follows similar narrative structures. Most of them realize that Nishino is bad news as he cheats and is emotionally unavailable. Yet, after they claim to dislike him, they will confess that they are on the verge of falling in love with him. Alas, because of 'reasons', they break up.

Nishino is a class-A piece of trash. He doesn't care for consensual sex, or monogamy (when asked for by his current partner), and is also a creep lol. Tbh I didn't feel fazed by this because the story felt like it was for the women because Nishino got 0 character development until the end.

Alas, there were ten loves of Nishino, but I was not one of them :)
