There are a lot of feelings in this book, and it tugged on my heartstrings. If it had centered around anything other than a book group and book lovers, I probably would have simply rolled my eyes and suffered through it. But as it is, I totally lapped up every last emotion and sentiment.

***** The Lonely Hearts Book Club was a wonderful story about a book club started when an librarian was concerned about one of her patrons. It was told from the point of view of the various characters, which I usually enjoy and this was no exception. The chapter by Arthur was especially wonderful. There was a bit of romance, which I'm usually not into, but it worked for this book. Recommend.

I hated the old man character and it was such a reach to think the librarian would quit her job for him.
