This was a cute and sweet book, it felt very similar to a man called Otto! The characters were flawed but loveable, dynamic in a pleasing manner. Their stories are all fledged out but intertwine nicely and the book gives a satisfying ending. It just wasn’t a page turner for me— I enjoyed reading it, but I can’t say I was ever that drawn in either. A good book to read a few pages of a night before bed.
DNF - started strong but I’ve been bored for more than half of the book

I liked the idea of this book more than the execution, but I still was able to enjoy it, mostly.
I liked that we got to see chapters from multiple POV's, and that I found the different characters' chapters easy enough to distinguish from each other.
However, I did not enjoy the writing: the character voice distinctions were superficial rather than truly character-fitting, and there was too much repetitive telling instead of showing and clunky exposition — from all perspectives.
Although I didn't find the situation described in this book the least bit believable, I still enjoyed its wish-fulfillment premise, and most of all — that the fulfilled wish was not about romantic attachments, for a change, but about finding new strong friendships and deep connections at all stages of adulthood.

This exploration of friendship and love was as witty and fun as it was heartbreaking and sad. We see how regret and grief play a big role in how a person reacts to being loved and how a person loves others. But we also see how a couple of good and honest friends can help a person change, no matter how old or young they are.
