Wow! This one was good! Of course, I had high expectations, but I'm always skeptical of "classic" books. They can be boring, wordy, and outdated. But Animal Farm lived up to the hype. I was fascinated by Napoleon's demise into dictatorship and the parallels between the animals and the real-life political climate at the time. But the book seems everlasting in its topics of power and corruption. Starting and finishing this book in 3 days, during the same week of the first 2024 presidential election made it almost scary. It was scarily relevant then, and it remains so. A book that deserves to be read in high school English classes all over.
