not for everyone for sure, and it is a little hard to get over the 2000s vibes BUT that's part of the allure of this series in my opinion, mac is getting way more tolerable, and i love how the plot is going, but the lack of knowledge abt jericho barrons (the supposed love interest) is driving me insane!!! gimme something pleaseeeeee...

This was actually BETTER than the first book of the series. I really really enjoyed this. I think the writing is better than a lot of this genre (that I eat up anyway). I like the character arc, very believable and enjoyable ride. I think this book shouldn't be stuck in the romance section, it has more action than a lot of the ones in the SF/Fantasy section. I'll be picking up the sequel next month is hardback!
