I found this book enjoyable, but it still took me a while to get through. I was sad to find that the Pevensies aren't in the story, but there was enough adventure with Eustace, Jill and the Marshwiggle, that I really didn't miss them.

I really wish I would have read this as a child. I would have loved the adventure so much. As an adult, I tried to make myself hold onto that wonder of a child. What was most meaningful to me now is all of the Biblical allusions. Having read the Bible now in 5 translations, I can appreciate the symbolism more than I could have as a child.

So the 5 stars are for the child LJ who would have loved the adventure and for the adult LJ who loves the Bible symbolism.
