It’s a great romance book minus the fact that it justifies cheating. I love the chemistry between the main characters but I hate that they basically became a Hunter and Tori. But I guess that’s okay because it made the story somehow realistic.

This book hits me repeatedly right through my heart. Mainly because at one point in my life I had been Sydney. I'd been in the same situation. The music, the 'SHOULDN'T' feels. Unfortunately, it didn't end like Maybe Someday, though. Real life is way harsh.

To start off, this book was very heartbreaking and painful to read. I felt like I was reminiscing my past at certain points. Maybe that explained why I cried a lot. I felt the emotions that each character felt. I cried, laughed, cried all over again, and fell in love.

To say that this book is precious to me is an understatement. I relish this with all my heart. I've never felt anything like this about a novel before. I didn't know I needed it until I've read it.
The story gripped me like memories. I didn't want Ridge and Sydney's story to end. Maybe because it was like reading the future love I once wished and dreamed that I would experience when I was at the same situation. I felt connected to Sydney's feelings throughout the book. No one wants to feel like a second choice. No one wants to doubt his/her love for and from another.

"Lines are drawn, but then they fade.
For her I bend, for you I break."

Oh, Ridge. My poor heart can't take it anymore.

Colleen, Colleen, what have you done to me? I sincerely felt like this was written for me, no matter how pretentious it sounds. You don't even know my existence or my life story, but heck, how did you write SUCH a story so close to home? You're otherworldly.

So hard to finish. The dialogue between the two main characters was lackluster. I liked Warren better than Ridge

This book is either a love or hate type of situation.

Colleen Hoover has easily became one of my favorite authors this year and I've only read two books by her! Her writing style and the way she captivates you with each characters takes you that much deeper into the world you're reading.

This book had it all, included a playlist to follow along with while reading! A love story that is complicated, forbidden, and everything you don't want but need. I have never laughed so much, cheesed so hard, or been completely confused for these characters as I am right now. Ridge and Sydney are the definition of right person, wrong timing! It's like you want to root for them but it seems like you shouldn't!

I don't want to give too much away but I would definitely recommend this book! Based in Texas, Ridge is a singer-songwriter and Sydney helps him write lyrics during his writers block. There is new information given to you pretty early on in the book that I didn't expect but not in a bad way. It just made the book that much more interesting and I love everything Colleen did to portray that aspect she included.

side note: Warren was by far my favorite character! His sense of humor was most of my highlights! Also his range as a character was amazing, he can go from the clown of the group to a therapist to harsh critic in 3 seconds flat!!

tropes (possible spoilers) (I recommend going in blind but it is what it is):
bandmate, love triangle, forbidden love, forced proximity

favorite song: Hold On To You

Favorite Quotes (spoilers) read at your own risk:
He begins to drive, and he reaches down and turns on the radio, which confuses me. He can't hear it, so I don't understand why he would care if it was on or off. But then I realize he didn't do it for himself. He turned it on for me. -Sydney
For her I bend, for you I break. - Ridge
"Why don't you ever practice on your balcony like you used to?" "Why would I? You're not out there anymore." -Sydney and Ridge
Then I leave to go and give the other half of my heart a proper good-bye. -Ridge
I'm crying tears over the death of something that never even had the chance to live. The death of us. -Sydney
It's the fact that he's choosing this moment to speak for the first time in fifteen years. - Sydeny
It's you, My heart...wants you. -ridge
"I just fell completely in love with you," I say to her. I glance at Bridgette, who is still seated at the table. "Did you see it, Bridgette? Did you see me just fall in love with her?" -Ridge
My life with Ridge will be nothing short of remarkable. -Sydney
