4.5 stars.
I had originally found this book due to my universities one book one school program. This was one of four that they were deciding on and the tag line reached out and grabbed me. "Traveling the world to find good death." It struck me that many times we do assume death is always bad, especially in US culture. This book made me laugh more than I expected as well while teaching me things I wouldn't have known otherwise.
The US, like Caitlin said multiple times in the book, is so avoidant of the conversation about death, which makes no sense. Families can discuss plans for having children decades before the kids are even planned out yet the discussion of death and how you want to be laid to rest is few and far between. I think this book definitely helped, calm a part of me that I didn't know needed to be calmed. If that makes sense.
I highly recommend this book. I'm going to go out and buy a physical copy for myself.
