if you’re curious about the stigma surrounding death and dying in Western societies, this book is for you!!

caitlin doughty has done it AGAIN. this book is filled with so much knowledge but it is never dense. i laughed and i cried. i felt seen in my own grief.

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS :)

Caitlin Doughty never disappoints me. I love her witty, sensitive, passionate writing about death culture, and especially how she is willing to go toe to toe with corporatized American funeral homes/industry. So cool reading about other funerary traditions around the world and always makes me a lil happy/sad to think about how well cared for some folks remains are and how many do not get that treatment

Doughty's writing has saved me so much pain, confusion and stress in a difficult time. She is doing such wonderful work.
