HOLY HOT FUCKING BATMAN!!!! full review to come later

I'm dead aren't I? I have got to be! I know I am!...

... Everything doesn't have to end... BUT THIS DID! It is hard to say goodbye but I have too! At least for now!

What do I think of Night Owl?? Well, multiple things actually.
1) WHEN DOES THE NEXT ONE COME OUT??
2) Who ends it like that?????
3) Referring to Tarzan the movie, "Is this water sanitary? Looks questionable to me!" No this book isn't sanitary at all (A good kind of sanitary). It was filthy, dirty and grimy. It was PERFECT!
4) I actually FELT the characters for one's. I felt their suffering and their neglect and sorrow. I felt it because I understood it.
AND...
5) I love the mystery behind M. Pierce, even the actually M. Pierce him/herself. Mystery makes it so much more intriguing and questionable. Everyone likes to solve a mystery...

Holy fucking mind fuck..

My Dearest Matthew Sky AKA M. Pierce,

I am irreparably, unequivocally, and completely in love with you. Also, I'm little disturbed by this realization. Yes, you are handsome and yes, you are brilliant, and absolutely, you fuck like a god; but you are also an asshole, and a liar. You're sneaky, paranoid and at times are a little too rough. You're moody and brooding and represent everything I hate in a BBF. So, why do I find myself thinking of nothing but you since I finished your story?
If I had to guess it's because despite everything, you love with all of your heart and when something means something to you, it means EVERYTHING to you. It's why you couldn't fight your feelings for Hannah, why you hate writing but you hate NOT writing even more. It's why you love Laurence, your pet rabbit so completely I think I love you because you're broken and, let's face it, what woman doesn't dream of being the one who fixes a broken man?
Hannah is just perfect enough to be that woman. She's strong where it counts and she didn't enter into a relationship with you without seeing it would be difficult, even when she didn't know the whole story. She loves you with all of her heart and while she isn't completely blinded to who/what you really are, she recognizes that she's too weak to go on without you. The two of you together are all sparks and fire, a never ending flame. It's because of that, I kind of hate her you know.
My only regret about finally reading your story is that it's now over and I won't get to relive it for the first time every again. I'm just thankful that I have more of you and Hannah to look forward to. It's just unfortunate that I'm so impatient that it feels like it will be forever until I get it. Until then I'll be looking at my Lelo to get me through. Until Next Time Mr. Frostypants.

Yours Entirely,
Jaime

DID NOT FINISH

DNF - at just over 70%

For an indie book it was well written and edited, but I just found the story rather dull. I also didn't really like either of the main characters and there was so much sex scenes that it felt repetitive.

Not for me.

this book was stupid

I am not sure how to rate this bc while I read it rather quickly, which means it held my interest, there were some lines in the book and some scenes that put me off a bit. For example, The pig comment was a bit much. That is personal preference though. If you are looking for a read with plenty of steamy sex scenes and a lot of dirty talk, with the mention of farm animals, then this is a book you would enjoy.

I'm going to admit, up front, that this book had me flip flopping between loving it and wanting to toss my Kindle. But here's why, in the end, I ended up really liking the story. Matt may have repulsed me, repeatedly, with his insistence on calling Hannah a slut (I'm thinking he meant it as a sort of term of endearment, but that just rubbed me the wrong way) but as more of the "broken" Matt came out, the more I liked him and in the end fell for him.

Matt was a hot mess. He hid it well, only showing slight quirks you could pass off, for most of the story. We probably saw them in his work relationship rules with Hannah or how fiercely he protected his identity, but we (and Hannah) were willing to overlook those when he was being dirty and dominate in bed. And when he was being dirty and dominate, I often times found it hard to like Matt. But then Matt's world implodes and his true self emerges. A Matt who hugs stuffed manatees and make you want to hug him. It was hard to reconcile the two, but I found myself liking the broken Matt because he wasn't so course and was more loving towards Hannah.
Hannah was a woman who knew how to push limits. She constantly pushed Matt. Broke his rules. But she knew what she wanted and she went after it. And when what she wanted hurt her, she stood her ground. But she's incredibly loyal and when Matt needed her, she went to him. I give her a lot of credit, because Matt had hurt her terribly and she still went to him and helped him try to put his life back together.

To me, this was one of those books that could have gone either way, but Broken Matt saved the story for me. His hugging his stuffed manatee and trying hard to hold onto his sanity drew me in and wouldn't let go. And it's Broken Matt who will have me eagerly awaiting the next book in the trilogy.

Here's to the first dnf of 2023.

A story normally deserving two stars surprised me in the last forty percent with a delightful love story that has me hungering for more. Definitely for erotic romance readers and slightly darker than typical contemporary flair.
