3.5 stars. the story was good.the epilogue was weird.
I really enjoyed this book so I would like to continue with the books, if Audible ever puts the next ones on the site. Admittedly I could read the physical books because I have them but I like the narrator of the audiobooks. Matt and Hannah's relationship is an amazing one because they start as writing partners and their relationship moves ahead more once Matt sees a picture of Hannah because she accidentally sent an email from her personal account to Matt. I loved seeing the relationship grow into what it did. I really need to read the next ones (*Note from 2016 Ashley, still haven't read them, I gotta get on that*)
(Found reviews on my computer for books I read last year that I never posted so that is why I have written as if it was back then)

I am on a total book high! I absolutely adore this book! This is going on the favorites shelf!
WOW! Holy hotness! This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I couldn't put it down. I came across this book by a review given by a blog, read the synopsis and thought, "Why the hell not?!" So glad I 1-clicked! M. Pierce definitely knows how to draw you in! Hannah & Matt's personalities meshed so well in the sense that they were just what the other one needed. They played off each other brilliantly! I was constantly kept on my toes throughout! Great read! Beyond excited to learn that there will be a book 2 & 3. Can't wait! Well played, Pierce, well played!
What the f*ck did I just read?

I was trying to get to more than half the book, but then I realized, nothing was really happening to these two cheating love birds. Yes. They cheated, on both sides, although, one of them broke it off with the other person they were seeing, and for someone they have never even met.
The thing about this book is, it was so easy to read and get engrossed with.
But I have plenty of problems with this book, and they were major ones for me.
THE PROBLEMS I HAD WERE:
1. There is no fucking plot. Unless you would consider continuously fucking each other a plot, then I guess, there is a plot.
2. I hated the characters. Matt and... the girl (I forgot the girl's name, to be honest) were insufferable. None of what they're doing made sense. They were reckless and unbelievably shallow. There was no depths to their character, at all.
3. THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT "NOT" TO DO WHEN YOU MEET SOMEONE ONLINE. This book got me shaking my head after reading the first few pages. Holy fuck. I understand that they were writing partners, but how quickly it escalated to online sex partners was beyond me. I just did not get it. And come on, you didn't know you were sending an e-mail using your personal mail, really?????????
I really just cannot finish this anymore.
The only positive thing I can say about this book is the writing. It's addicting, but overall, I would not recommend this book.

Okay, I was fine with how this book ended, until I read the epilogue.
Like, seriously OMG I can't even. I'm a curious person, so I will definitely read the rest of the books, but I don't want what it looks like happens in the epilogue to actually happen.
The rest of the book I loved, I loved Matt and Hannah's relationship, it was, kind of, similar to how many relationships start - online. I loved reading Mat's struggle with everything, but it was heartbreaking too. I was glad for the dual POV as things made much more sense than they would have done if it was just from say, Hannah's POV.
Bearing the epilogue in mind, M. Pierce's Night Owl was perfect, and i can't wait to read the rest of the series.

My Dearest Matthew Sky AKA M. Pierce,
I am irreparably, unequivocally, and completely in love with you. Also, I'm little disturbed by this realization. Yes, you are handsome and yes, you are brilliant, and absolutely, you fuck like a god; but you are also an asshole, and a liar. You're sneaky, paranoid and at times are a little too rough. You're moody and brooding and represent everything I hate in a BBF. So, why do I find myself thinking of nothing but you since I finished your story?
If I had to guess it's because despite everything, you love with all of your heart and when something means something to you, it means EVERYTHING to you. It's why you couldn't fight your feelings for Hannah, why you hate writing but you hate NOT writing even more. It's why you love Laurence, your pet rabbit so completely I think I love you because you're broken and, let's face it, what woman doesn't dream of being the one who fixes a broken man?
Hannah is just perfect enough to be that woman. She's strong where it counts and she didn't enter into a relationship with you without seeing it would be difficult, even when she didn't know the whole story. She loves you with all of her heart and while she isn't completely blinded to who/what you really are, she recognizes that she's too weak to go on without you. The two of you together are all sparks and fire, a never ending flame. It's because of that, I kind of hate her you know.
My only regret about finally reading your story is that it's now over and I won't get to relive it for the first time every again. I'm just thankful that I have more of you and Hannah to look forward to. It's just unfortunate that I'm so impatient that it feels like it will be forever until I get it. Until then I'll be looking at my Lelo to get me through. Until Next Time Mr. Frostypants.
Yours Entirely,
Jaime
