Great story. Matt is a realistic piece of shit and I hate it. I also love it so I must be a masochist.
Adoration, enthralled, captivated, all three words describe what I felt when I read Night Owl. The main reason for this is because of the characters, Matt is so complicated damaged but yet so confident and demanding. He is the perfect anti hero! personally this book blows 50 Shades Of Grey out of the water, why because its so much more intellectually superior you are invested from the get go. The language is as seductive has the characters, and the way both characters feel so intensely its nothing short of magnificent
Now not only do you have Matt to fill your day dreams, you have Hannah, curvy dark haired and fabulous she is everything Matt wants, not only wants but needs & craves. They meet on a writing forum and one night a blue dressing gown and a late night chat changes their relationship forever.
They are quickly overwhelmed with sexual desire, phone calls are not enough, Matt breaks all his rules for Hannah and seeks her out and when they meet damn are the sex scenes HOT! They are rough, dirty and you know you're sitting their blushing ( I know I did)
Now Matt has a secret, he isn't just any struggling writer, no he is best selling author M.Pierce and he has a girlfriend, knowing he is a disgrace for keeping secrets from Hannah he decides to come clean, but its too late his identity is leaked and Matt's worst nightmare comes a reality.
both suffering will they finally get over the hurt, will the lies ruin it all.
Will the night owl get his little bird?
Fresh & Exhilarating

I read this book in about 12 hours (and it only took that long because I was at work for 8 hours of it, and I had to do some work in between reading)! Of course while I was reading I made the obvious comparisons...The rich guy with dark secrets that likes kinky sex...The book nerd girl that falls under his spell. I just really wish I would have found this book before that other one! This is definitely at the top of my favorites list, and I CAN'T FREAKIN WAIT for the next one. That Epilogue is killing me!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Take them! Take ALL of the stars!
No, seriously, I loved this first book of the Night Owl Trilogy. I was addicted after the first two chapters, and then I absolutely devoured it. I consumed it whole. Because just when I thought it was going to be an especially suspenseful sex-fest with a kinky, alpha hero, it actually became quite serious, realistic, and downright meaningful. The anonymous author did a fantastic job with some serious issues that hit close to home for me, and I appreciated it, even if it did stoke some old, painful memories.
I already knew that the price of great pleasure is great pain.
Anyone who knows me knows that there isn't much I won't read. That being said, I'll always have a weakness for bad boys, especially obsessive ones that border on insane. I swore off the crazy ones in real life a long time ago, but I still get my fix from fiction. Matt checked all the boxes for me; fixated, secretive, brooding, and filthy. Yes, he was deceitful, but I understood him. Underneath the bravado was a man who felt too much. He had a pet rabbit and adored a stuffed manatee, for fuck's sake. I didn't even love to hate him, because I never hated him. He was always perfect to me, even when he was making bad decisions. That being said, I understood Hannah too. She had every right to every feeling she had, but she still stepped up when it mattered. Maybe some people don't understand how strong she had to be- and they're lucky for that, because I wouldn't wish it on anyone- but I do. Towards the end of the book, she earned my undying respect. It's usually pretty rare for me to fall in love with both MCs, but it happened effortlessly in this one. I can't wait to continue!!
God, I felt amazing. I felt tattered in the best possible way, like our violent passion had blasted me clean. When I eased off Matt’s arm and climbed out of his bed, I knew that I was leaving something behind. It was my old skin. He’d taken me for all I was worth.
For the first time since I met Matt, I was starting to feel like he might be too good to be true. Too perfect, too right for me, too interested in me. There had to be a catch.
I didn’t know how to be apart from Hannah anymore. I didn’t know how to wake up without her. When I was with her, I felt right and the world felt full of possibility.
“You are always deceiving me,” she whispered. I clasped the couch with both hands. “Always, Matt, always speaking to me from any mouth but your own. Don’t you know that I love you? I see you under all your lies, and I always find you.”

The Book took me by surprise. The story grabbed me from start to finish, albeit a little disturbing with the rough stuff, but interesting nonetheless.
I didn't expect it to tackle issues such as addiction and all that comes with it. The hero struggles to find happiness and she struggles to give it to him.
Maybe I am just sappy at the moment, but I enjoyed this extremely. The writing was so captivating and funny and sarcastic. I loved it. I am possibly rereading as I feel the writing style is something to be study and emulated somehow. Well done to the author.
I want to read the next two books but I am very hesitant. I don't want to be disappointed :(.

Where do I even start to describe how I feel about "Night Owl" by M. Pierce? It was an epic romance to say the least, and it's only the first book of the trilogy. One thing that I found kind of wired/trippy was the fact that the author of the book is M. Pierce but also Matt's author name is M. Pierce. Going into the book I was a little confused about that concept. But once I finally got into the story -which happened very quickly- I just felt connected to the characters and the stories being told throughout this novel.
At a certain point while I was reading "Night Owl", I found myself flying through the pages and before I knew it I had been reading for half the night. That is how amazingly good this book is. My one problem with this book was the occasional overlapping points of view. I didn't enjoy relieving a certain event through the other person's point of view after having just read it through the other character's point of view. But really that was mostly the authors writing style, and was easy to get used to, so ultimately it doesn't weigh to heavily on my rating....

I HATE cliffhangers! Hate them!!!!! I am in need of a strong shot and possibly twenty cigarettes. This book was brilliant. I loved it. I loved reading from both points of view. And I am not ashamed to say I really like Matt. Screwed up, list making, anti-social Matt. I am not really into the dominating types of sex being used frequently in books. But I liked this. Matt made it hot.
Enjoyable, different read that I will recommend to my friends. But I hated the ending. Now I have to wait anxiously for book two to release.

This book was kind of weird, but I liked it. I expected a little more in the dirty talk department after all the raving I heard... don't get me wrong, the dirty talk was good, but a little repetitive. I felt like this book was kind of all over the place, but I think that was due to Matt's bipolar personality, so I'm thinking maybe it was supposed to be that way?! Anyway, I would have like to see more of a relationship between Matt and Hannah rather than sex/lust/obsession, but I still liked the book and will be reading the next one. About the epilogue, all I have to say is WTF?! Not sure what is going on, but I did notice the actual author's name is M. Pierce... coincidence?!

This book has been on my mind since the second I finished it. I have absolutely the biggest book hangover ever after Night Owl by M. Pierce and I cannot wait to get the next installment in this trilogy. Night Owl was truly fantastic, and my words will never be able to accurately explain all the reasons that I loved this book so much. But I can honestly say that this is not only one of the best books that I have ever read, but that this could be one of my all time favorites. Night Owl is a must read. This book has so much to offer, and honestly I think that Night Owl is one that anyone can find something to relate to or be drawn into.
Matt Sky has everything that he could ever want. He has plenty of money, a girlfriend, and a wildly successful career as an author under the pen-name of M. Pierce that currently has four bestsellers. His alias is often questioned and there are many rumors about who M. Pierce is, but there are only a select few who know his true identity. Matt meets Hannah Catalano online where they begin to write together. The writing partners have some rules between them, not the least of which is no personal information or pictures. But when Hannah mistakenly sends an email to Matt from her regular email account, Matt is instantly drawn to her. When Hannah relocates and winds up closer than ever, the two begin a relationship that is more intense than either of them have ever felt before. But with so many secrets and obstacles between them, are they doomed before they ever truly begin?
I loved Matt and all of his quirks. I liked that he was such a dirty talker and was able to really explore the passion between him and Hannah. He was so sexy and demanding when it came to sex, but he was also so cute and a little bit nerdy the rest of the time. He had a pet rabbit, which for some reason absolutely fascinates me. I think it is pretty much the most adorable thing ever and for some reason really stuck with me. I didn't like that he started things with Hannah while he still had a girlfriend, but I do understand some of why he let things go on longer than they should have. His connection with Hannah was undeniable, and they connected on absolutely every level. Hannah was easy to like as well, and I really loved her personality. She was just one of those heroines that is so cool you would love to hang out with in real life. It was easy to see how Matt could be so drawn to her. These two had a great connection, and I loved that they met through writing. But their chemistry was off the charts and honestly I have to say was stronger than I think I have ever read about before.
Overall, this book was fantastic and was one that I am still thinking about now. I know that I will reread this one over and over in the future. It was so well written, and I loved absolutely everything about it. It was smart and witty, sexy and hot. But it was also beautiful and had a way of showing such a strong connection and relationship differently than I have ever seen done before. I never knew exactly what would happen next, and I will admit that the ending absolutely shocked me. It left me reeling, and I need the next book like I have never needed a sequel before. I honestly wish I could talk about what happened, but you really do not want to be spoiled on this one and have to read it for yourself. Trust me, this one is definitely worth the read and you will not be disappointed with Night Owl. I just wish that I could go back and read this one for the first time all over again to truly experience the whole thing like it was the first time. I honestly felt sad to finish this one and leave the characters behind for now. I have a few books that just really resonate with me, and Night Owl is definitely one of them. I know that I will be trying to be patient as I anxiously await the next book from M. Pierce, and Last Light cannot get here fast enough.

Actual Rating: 1.5 stars.
It makes me sad that there are people out there who think this is sexy. Sure, some of the sex scenes are hot, and the dirty talk isn't terrible at times. But this book is 200+ pages of Matt being a complete asshole and doing nothing but abusing, degrading, and disrespecting Hannah under the guise of "loving" her. The emotional and mental manipulation is disgusting. The way he forces sexual acts on her and then twists it so it seems like it had been her idea is gross. Just in general he is vile in every regard. And Hannah is as pathetic.
The redeeming portion of this book for me were the phone/cyber scenes before Matt and Hannah had met. Once they were in person, I was too caught up in what a scumbag he was to enjoy any of it.
Side note: What kind of douchebag do you have to be to write yourself into your own story? Like is that supposed to be witty or something? Golf clap for the attempt at being clever but really just being creepy. Just. Ugh. Gross across the board. I feel like a worse person for having read it.
