I really liked this book. I enjoy reality TV so I think that helped. the concept is interesting

Solid 3.5 stars.

This book was okay. Definitely an interesting premise and I liked the little nuances to our modern time like Facebook, Dominion, and Settlers of Catan. It took place sometime in the future after the year 2045 is all we really know.

Rosie was a okay main character, not exactly the smartest but I guess she was just too determined. I'm definitely curious what happens next, that ending was crazy. I really don't see any way for Rosie to get out of it. She should have known that and not been so stupid as to do what she did.

The evolution into madness is beautiful, with a depressing, if honest, and perfect, ending. I like it as a standalone and approve of the ending, so it'll be interesting to see if I like where a sequel would go.

ARC Review

The plot of this book is so awesome! Lots of twists & turns & mystery, plus a dash of romance. And that ending!?!?!?! I definitely recommend it.

I fell in love with this book as soon as I started reading it. Rosie is such a relatable character and the plot line moves quickly enough to keep me drawn in, but allows me to pull myself out when necessary. It is the PERFECT mix of dystopian science fiction and romance. I can't wait for the next one to come out! (To give you another idea of how good it is, I bought it, and I rarely buy books because I rarely read books twice. I expect I'll read this one 2 more times over the summer.)

Meh. Interesting concept, but I don't think I will pick up the sequels

Sequel, why you no published yet?!

As always, Caragh O'Brien's writing is lyrical, easy to read, and sucks you in. Also as always, the wait for the sequel is going to be agonizing.

While this book will definitely appeal more to teenagers than adults, I would give this book a solid three stars. The love plot was what brought this book down for me. It seemed forced, and it never captured my attention. It also was too much of a focus in the book. However, the idea of the Forge school, Rosie's background, and the twists and turns the book took towards kept my attention. A little less love plot, a little more of the school sci-fi plot would have improved this book for me. Still, there will be some kids that LOVE this book, love plot and all. Will recommend to teens, not necessarily to adults.

This book was equal parts strange, boring, intriguing, and ridiculous. I felt like it was all over the place and never really fully developed. The last 100 pages or so seemed to contain all the action but at the same time they too were all over the place and the ending was so annoying because of all the questions I'm left with! I assume there will be a sequel so we'll see what happens with that.
