UNFINISHED:

I was really hoping it would be an educational book ON trauma and epigenetics, NOT how to deal with your inherited trauma. So, if I'm honest, this book is not for you if your relationship with your parents/family is bad enough that you can't have honest and open communication (or any at all). I was easily able to extend my belief to the interesting and almost impossible sounding testimonies scattered throughout the first part of the book and I appreciated the concepts of "core language" and "core sentence" I definitely know myself a little better after reading. But I literally could not finish it. And I tried. I put in the effort to try and coax the information I might need from my living relatives and I was given nothing in return.
Guess I'll just have to find something else to blame for my terrible health problems

The first section about epigenetic research was fascinating and heartbreaking, but i found the rest of it to be almost a willful misreading and application of the research. An (un)healthy dose of woo added in after such a strong start.

Definitely not recommended for those who had a traumatic childhood and are no contact with their family, as the author simultaneously acknowledges traumatic childhoods and encouraged you to get back in contact with those who traumatized you. No thanks, I'll stick with therapy.

The science is there and helpful in the first few chapters! However, Wolynn's options and solutions for ending generational trauma are narrow and short-sighted.

Interesting concepts. Not sure how accurate any of the information is. I understand the parts about generational curses bur some of it seemed so far fetched
