this is the 10th Harlan Coben book I have read. Why? I don't know. they are quick reads, but after a few they are all the same. I do like how he uses the same characters, in minor roles sometimes and lead roles others but he doesn't need to also recycle everything else as well.

I haven't read a Coben for a while and after a few chapters I remembered what I love about his writing. Great characters and full of twists. I also liked the appearance of Hester Crimstein although didn't necessarily like all her decisions. I'm only giving it a 4 stars as it didn't have as many twists at the end like most of his other books. Coben usually me leaves me thinking wow, didn't see that coming but this wasn't really so with this book.

A lot of independent thoughts.

I can tell this book was written by a man, the violence and description of said violence and fights gave that away.

I see this book is classified as a thriller but I would more call it a screenplay with really old technology references that are laughable in 2023. It very much felt like it would be better as a limited TV series rather than a book because the insane amount of different writing perspectives is wild and hard to keep up with.

About 80% into the book I started to be interested in how all the tie togethers would happen and everything would play out but ultimately it just kind of fell a bit flat. There were a few things revealed that we couldn't have guessed but for the most part the author himself spoiled the plots of some of it.

Also I really wasn't keen on the start of the book being from Marianne's perspective, it just made me think it might not be a book I wanted to read but once I got through that it was okay.

My first Harlan Coben book. Will definitely not be my last. The story itself was really good, but not the best I've read. I absolutely love his writing style though.

Not my favorite. Two distinct story lines I kept waiting for them to interweave. But still fun

I don't understand why all these things would come together. The stories intersected but not enough to make it worth having all of them in the book. It seemed like too much was going on and the last part was unnecessary since those characters had barely been in the story.

Loved it! Harlan did not disappoint (I didn't expect him to!!!). I love how there are characters from his other work; that's what's really gotten me attached to his books, I think. I love how his books leave you hanging until the last moment. Although this time I figured out two different things before they were explained in the story. I'm so proud of myself, I never figure out his stuff.

Held my interest but not his best.
