I listened to this book. First of all the narrator, Sebastian York, was phenomenal and I will absolutely look for other things he reads.

I enjoyed this book it was entertaining to listen to. Kate is a strong willed woman who has no problem putting Drew in his place. Drew is sexy and dirty and oh so fantastic except for the fact that he is such an asshole. He's the different girl every weekend never the same ride twice kind of guy. He is such a pig that at times it is almost hard being inside his brain. On the flip side he is hilarious.

It's only a 3 star book for me because Drew is not the easiest to like and while he grows up some throughout he still seems to believe that money and sex can fix everything. Fun listen entertaining characters but not the most lovable.

3.5 stars. This was a fun read. The male perspective seems to match the stereotypes that women hold of heterosexual men. This received so much fanfare that I had to buy it when it went on sale. However, I would not read it again.

I remember when this book came out 11 years ago. I remember everyone reading it at the time. I remember being soooooo excited to read it. But something always got in the way of me actually reading it. I know I started it (multiple times) but either I had an ARC commitment or I wasn't in the mood for it. Honestly, I should have listened to the book gods and skipped this book.

Look, I love asshole heroes in books. I love jerks that redeem themselves. But Drew...he was too much for me. I truly didn't like him. I wanted so much better for Kate. I spent the whole book wanting to drop kick Drew off a cliff.

Nikki (my bff) warmed me that I would have issues with Drew but she promised he got better. Yeah....that didn't happen. Every time he opened his mouth, he pissed me off.

This book would have been a 1 star read but there was one particular scene that did win that 2nd star...it was the custom office scene toward the end. It was the only time in the whole book that I felt like Drew had genuine feelings for Kate. It was the one time in the book he actually thought about Kate. Everything else up until that point was about him and getting what he wanted.

Will I read this book again? No, absolutely not. Will I watch the movie they made based on this? Yeah, I will. SMH. I have issues. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This book completely nails the male pov! It was crude and so funny!!! I didn't feel as though I was reading a book. I felt more like I was watching a movie or talking with a friend. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Drew gets himself into next.....

Ok, ok, ok, I know many of you are thinking she is just NOW reading this book?!

and

But what can I say,

Drew, you irresistible man whore you. How could I not love you?! And Kate? You really are awesome. I love a strong female character in a book. She wasn't naïve, but extremely intelligent and even she couldn't resist Drew's charms. As most love stories seem to go, Drew and Kate have a major misunderstanding which leads to a lot of groveling. The humor and drama in this book was a perfect balance. There were times when I would find myself chuckling out loud and then the next moment I'm going

So people if you haven't read this book yet, don't put it off any longer. Read. Enjoy. Laugh. Yell. It was wonderful and it has my

I will leave you with some words of wisdom from Drew.

Assume nothing. Even if you think you know everything. Even if you're sure that you're right. Get confirmation. That whole "ass" cliché about assuming? It's right on the money. And if you're not careful, it could end up costing you the best thing that's ever going to happen to you.

And another thing--don't get too comfortable. Take chances. Don't be afraid to lay it on the line. Even if you're happy. Even if you think life is freaking perfect.

This was a strange one for me. First of all I'm not a huge fan of 1st person narration in the first place. Couple that with the narrator/character talking directly to me as if telling me the story and I really dislike it. That being said there is a tongue in cheek style that is pleasant here. While this book didn't sell me on the genre/style I didn't hate it.

But really this was only a 2.5-3 star read for me. The biggest reason why is I never really liked the characters. Talk about your male gender stereotypes. Drew is so ridiculously over the top "MALE" in his actions towards women it's obnoxious. He's written as so much of a chauvinist & player that I found him incredibly unlikable for a majority of the book, especially since he's essentially whining for the first half at how put upon he is to finally be in love and to have his wittle (purposeful misspelling here) heart broken. Cue the tiny violins because I'm just not buying it, you did this one to yourself buddy all because you're one ginormous asshole. I mean the stereotype in this book is so overdone that really the character of Drew pretty much became a caricature of a human being for me. Sure he has some funny moments in the way he tells the story, but it's so me, me, me I'm pretty much rolling my eyes through the whole thing.

And as for Kate, yeah well as much as I admire her character for being strong in a man's world she pulls all the stupid weak woman stuff too. Ooooohhhhh I didn't realize my flirting with the guy would make him want that. *insert eyelash flutter here* I'm still in love with my high school sweetheart that I moved here with even though from the minute that we met it's oh so obvious that I want you Drew. No, no I can't leave him even though he's an incredible douche bag. *banging my head into the wall now*

Frankly I liked the secondary characters in this story a whole hell of a lot more than I liked the mains. Especially Drew's niece, she rocks! You go girl with your swear jar!

Having read the synopsis for the next book I don't know if I'll ever pick it up. I really am not interested in seeing this couple backslide into more absurd drama because they don't know how to behave like the grown adults they are. If it had been about some of the other characters I might have been quicker to jump onto the next book. But for right now I doubt I'm that interested.

This may have been a case of the right book at the right time but I thought this book was utter perfection. Emma Chase deserves a standing ovation for her ability to write a story completely from a male point of view in such a convincing and humorous manner.

I’m terribly late in joining the bandwagon on this series so I won’t bother with a synopsis or lengthy review. Basically this book is all that and a bag of chips. Who knew living inside a man’s mind could be so enjoyable? Drew is fun, kind of kinky, irreverent, romantic, hilarious, and – yes – at times he’s immature. But seeing him interact with his niece, Mackenzie? Could there be anything sweeter? Kate is his ideal counterpart. She’s a smart and sexy woman who makes Drew earn her affections for a change.

I had a huge smile on my face from beginning to end while reading this and, really, what more can you ask from a book?
