It's been a while since I read the last Kitty book so I was in a bit of a fog but I still enjoyed this book. It had a lot of emotional moments and yay for realistic gun use!

It has been a little while since I read this book but here is what I recall...

I love the series!! Yummy romance involving paranormal elements. Plenty of steamy action and a touch of humor!

Definitely a series to get into! I started it and didn't stop until I reached the last book that was released! I am always looking for the next book!

If you like steamy supernatural romances this is a series to look into!!!!

Did not expect the ending.

This is a novel of resolutions. Kitty has to return to Denver for personal reasons and confront all of the problems she left behind in the first book, and brings along all of her growth from the last two books. Kitty's very first problem is one that will make all women, and all feeling people in general, tear up. from there she has to confront her mother's health, her family's questioning, and their introduction to Ben. I have to say that Ben is really growing on me in this novel. This is probably the first urban fantasy novel where a heroine's romantic choice has been better than mine would have been.

Once Kitty is back in Denver we know that some issues are going to have to come out. And they do come up in a spectacular fashion. But Kitty learns in this fourth novel a lesson Harry Dresden didn't learn until book 13, she has friends and she can call on them. She is stronger than she thought she was, and there is something to be said for her compassion.

For a long time I thought I wouldn't see examples of real strength in Urban Fantasy characters. Most women tend to be stubborn and reckless and that is their excuse for strength. Kitty is something different, and I think she could become exactly what I'm looking for. Kitty may say she wishes someone else would come in and take care of her, but don't we all? In the end she takes care of her own problems, and she does it with a balance of compassion and guts.

I'm excited to see where this series goes.

The overall storyline is getting more intriguing. You learn a bit more about vampire politics and some things about werewolf biology. Kitty gets some more character growth.
adventurous emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

The Kitty series has yet to return to the excellence of the first two novels. I was disappointed in the third novel, and unfortunately I'm disappointed with this novel. Kitty is forced to return to her home town and the pack she left, which happens to be in the middle of a vampire war. I didn't feel for Kitty when some of the bad things happened to her in this novel, and I didn't understand some of the decisions she made. I don't particularly like Ben and I wasn't interested in many of the non action related events. It seems like Kitty has changed. I like a bit of the new Kitty, but I miss the strong self aware Kitty from the second novel. She constantly brings up that she isn't sure that her and Ben would work if they weren't both wolves, but they refuse to talk about it and stay together. The saving grace for me was the mystery surrounding the vampires. The vampires in the Kitty world are very secretive, and the power struggle in this novel was entertaining. A few things didn't make sense to me, but I won't go into anything because I don't want to spoil it. The Kitty series is definitely unique and I do find it entertaining, but I didn't find myself engrossed as I did with books one and two. Kitty and the Silver Bullet is definitely worth the read and I look forward to the future installments in the series.

Best one so far!!

This one I liked better then [b:Kitty takes a holiday|14463|Kitty Takes a Holiday (Kitty Norville, Book 3)|Carrie Vaughn|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166606509s/14463.jpg|16497]. The plot was somewhat less predictable, and you learn a lot more about how things work in the vampire/werewolf world. Some of the periphery characters become a little more fleshed out, like Detective Hardin and Kitty's family. Definitely a fun read.

Kitty getting into trouble again!
