Una historia de redención mostrada a través del amor de Miguel a Ángela, Mara, Tirsá... que con todo lo que pasó, con todos sus temores, llegó a conocer el amor verdadero.
La manera en cómo pudo reflejarse el amor de Dios por su Iglesia a través de esta historia es hermoso, siento que es una manera sana en la que una novela romántica puede acercarnos a conocer de Dios y su eterno amor, de que a pesar de que nos sintamos insuficientes o que no merecemos el amor que nos brinda, es ese inmenso amor que nos redime y nos hace nuevos.
Volvería a leer esta hermosa historia para siempre recordarme lo mucho que Dios nos ama y que a pesar de nuestro pasado, Él lo echa a lo profundo de la mar y nos invita a que nos renovemos y podamos permanecer fiel.
Y si bien la historia tiene ciertas falencias, no es perfecta, pero con eso nos demuestra que el mensaje puede llegar, puede transformar y hacernos sentir tantas cosas al mismo tiempo, el final me dejó destrozado pero lo tengo grabado en mi memoria.

I begrudgingly gave it three stars. It was well written but the subject matter was appalling.
My 80 year old brother told me it was his favorite book of all time. He of course knew about the comparison to the Bible story but kept that part secret I guess. About 50 pages in I wanted to chuck it. But it had to get better. It was like a bad harlequin novel. I grew up in church and no one I know would want to read about the topics in this book, child prostitution and abuse, incest, rape. No thank you. I wont be reading anything else by her. The only tears I shed were tears of joy when it was over. I know it is revered in some religious circles but I would never recommend it. But to each their own. I cant believe there was a movie made based on this that could be shown without being on late night cable.
