This is the first book in this series and what a kickoff. I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. Dagger is a fighter. He ends up coming to the emergency room quite a bit for different things. One night he ends up meeting a nurse that wont give him the time of day. But she has her own story to tell. These two end up meeting somewhere outside of the hospital when she needs help. Dagger is welling to help her because he sees something in her. But will these two become something? I absolutely loved this one. Dagger(Derrick) and Katy are two amazing characters. I loved the chemistry between these two and the story they have to tell. I cant wait to read more from this series.

I loved this story. Dagger is my kind of hero...tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Katy is a fighter and I love that in a heroine. Great story that I sure did hate to see end....looking forward to the next one

description

Derrick is back in the hospital again after his MMA fight to get his wounds fixed. This trip was not like every other thanks to the new night nurse, Katy. Derrick was determined to show Katy that he is not just some dumb fighter. She tried to ignore Derrick when he came in on her shift at the ER since she thought he was no different than her ex-boyfriend who she was running from. Her ex-boyfriend tracks her down and suddenly having Derrick around is a great thing.

Dagger is the first novel in the new Vegas MMA series by S.L. Sterling which is told in the dual first-person point of view. This was my first novel by S.L. Sterling and I enjoyed the way she was able to create the suspenseful feeling while reading the book. I could actually sense the fear in Katy she was experiencing while being on the run thinking her ex had found her. Once the trust was gained between Dagger and Katy your heartstrings are tugged at hard.

This was a great quick read that I really enjoyed.

I thought Dagger was a great character and I liked how well he treated the nurses and how much he joked around with them. I was definitely worried about what he was putting his body through but I understood why he did it.

I gave Katy so much credit for escaping Jonas and how much effort she had to put into it. I was shocked though when Dagger revealed how much information Jonas could find by having her gmail account. Now I need to look into that myself! I knew why she was weary about getting involved with anyone, no matter how nice she was told they were after everything Jonas had put her through.

There was chemistry between Katy and Dagger right away but it wasn’t until certain events happened that Katy began to trust him and let him know everything she was facing. I loved how much Dagger helped her with everything and did what he could to keep her safe.

As soon as a certain event happened I knew what was coming and I wasn’t wrong. It broke my heart on how guilty Dagger felt but I knew he would get to Katy!

The end was awesome and I can’t wait to see more of these two hopefully in the rest of the series as we head to Vegas!

Dagger is a struggling MMA fighter who just wants to make it big in the MMA world. He is living pay check to pay check, fight to fight. After each fight he usually ends up in the ER having to get stitches and scans to make sure there is no internal damage or broken bones. At his last trip he meets Katy, the new ER nurse who hates him on sight because she is running from her ex-boyfriend who was an abusive roid monkey, so seeing the sexy MMA fighter Dagger in her ER is the last thing she wants to deal with. But when the ex starts finds her and starts following her around town she turns to Dagger for help.

I enjoyed this story but I just didn't connect with the story. I liked that Dagger was so sweet, understanding and caring when it came to Katy and her issues. But I just felt like everything that happened to them was told to me after the fact. I would have liked to have seen some of the things that they did. But overall it was a quick and fun read. I will probably check out the others in this series as they are released.
