Possibly my favorite Discworld novel, which is something significant for my favorite book series and author. Witty, acerbic, poignant, prescient, and with genuine laugh-out-loud moments. It was a tight story, with clear through-lines, several

, and a solid core morality; truly a quintessential Pratchett novel.

I've read this, what, four times now since I was a wee queer teenager? It still holds up as one of Pratchett's finest works and by Nuggan, I will continue to rec it to everyone I know.

I haven’t read a ton of Discworld books (mostly City Watch) but this one is definitely the best one I’ve read. Very funny but also with surprisingly nuanced social commentary.
