i was looking forward to pick this book up for a while, since one of my booktwt mutuals recommended it to me and said she loved it. i think it is such a shame that i got into a reading slump so bad that it took me about a month to finish it, because i genuinely liked it.

i have to admit i'm not a huge fan of the fake dating trope because, usually, it involves miscommunication and that's a trope that i actually dislike. i do understand that the book would have been about 100 pages shorter without it, since miscommunication was the main issue of the story. but i just hate that it took over more than half of the book
and then there was the third breakup act... i hate ittt.

however i did like this book better than the first one. 'yours truly' had everything that i missed in 'part of your world' and that is a slow(er) burn romance and more wholesome, soft, not so-spicy moments between the main couple. i totally loved their "being harmless to each other" dynamic, their exchange of letters, how they slowly fell in love before even jumping to physical touch and i loved how the author still kept the theme of having two total (and partly different) strangers get to dive in each other's worlds and create one of their own.

of course, i also loved the main characters. i appreciate how this time the author tried to make the mmc more "relatable" by giving him anxiety. it was still hard for me to find him real because he was still a bit too perfect but i get it, since, at the end of the day, he is just a figment of a romance author's imagination.
i liked and laughed at briana's interventions on the first book so it was nice to get to know her more in depth and have a closer look at her dealing with her brother and her divorce. i understand her story was supposed to be more of a rom-com so that's why the author didn't delve further into her background and trauma. even so, she was still a very relatable character
so i am so glad she got her happy ending with a man who, despite his anxiety, loves her so much that he is willing to go out of his comfort zone and show up for her every time.

this second book put the bar a bit higher for the second one, so i hope it can exceed my expectations!

I really enjoyed this book. There were complex elements to the plot but they were well-thought-out and made the book very compelling to the point I struggled to put it down! The premise is really interesting, which can be hard to find in the Love Story genre. The characters were all really well written and the pace was just right, with the twists and turns and ending feeling authentic and satisfying.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I truly am left speechless at the graceful way mental health and physical health are portrayed in this book. It’s real, raw and relatable. It was fluid, well written and a developed story. And a rare five star read on my bookshelf.

THIS WAS PERFECTION!!!!!! Hooked me right from the start. Broke the scale.

Another 6 stars 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

BEST ROMANCE BOOK IVE EVER READ.  ONE OF MT FAVES OF ALL TIMES. That was perfection!!!!!!!!!! Another 6 stars 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ Hooked me right from the start

Best romance I’ve ever read. This spoke to me. Never ever cried for a book and fuck me this hit me. Made me giggle, kick my feet, laugh out of loud, gasp out of loud, stressed , cry , tense from my anxiety of what’s coming.

Never loved two main characters so much so equally. So much I could relate in terms of who they are and how they think (not what they’ve gone through). They’re so perfect for each other and they way the balance each other. I can’t. There was so much love emanating from the pages I was reading. The love Jacob has for Bri couldn’t be contained.

I love letters in any book. I’ll eat it up.  Ugh I need to reread this again already and I want to highlight everything I had on paper into a physical copy and actually also go through the discussion point questions 🤣🤣🤣

Although it did have its occasional moments where things came in suddenly out of no where which caught me out of guard like the miscommunication out of no where which did stress me out because WHY especially when things were so good and the book was closing near the end but thinking about it, it kinda made sense for why things happened the way it did.

There was also the plot regarding the chief position and what Briana wanted to do with her life that was forgotten??? But whatever all is forgiven. I couldn’t give a damn when everything else was so perfect to me. Wished there was more smut scenes because that one was definitely not enough, after all their inner monologue of saying what they would do to each other we never got any scenes 🤣🤣🤣

I think I found my version of Beach read. I’m acc obsessed. I loved this so much.

Forever loving Abby Jiménez’ writing style! This book seemed to hit more emotionally than past books of her, but I might just be in a more sensitive season right now.

I love seeing her characters grow for the better and find true love by the end. It’s never an easy process but the ending is always beautiful!
