I don’t understand the ending part where he follows the one girl like what’s her connection

This book was so amazing that I’m honestly not surprised that it became a series. It was heartbreaking to watch Clay listen to the tapes and experience his denial through him despite knowing that she’d inevitably die. I was hesitant to start reading it because I have issues with some of the triggers in there, but I’m so glad that I read it. There were points where I literally couldn’t see the page due to my tears and the overall circular narrative that this book provides was absolutely beautiful.
The poem that she writes in the middle had me rereading past segments to try and dissect what was happening and
I have a feeling that this is going to be such a good book to reread, knowing now what happens in the book.

I think that this book really makes you think about how you treat people while they are alive. In my family we have a saying that you should always do or say nice things to people because you could be the one person that stops someone from committing suicide. I also wonder why clay went after skye at the end of the book? I feel so bad for Hannah and if it was me I would have tried to be her friend or at least noticed that something was off and talked with her about it.

Full disclosure, I had already watched the series adaptation and knew I liked it. It was really good to listen to this one, due to the nature of the story, it felt like Hannah was also talking to us.

Obviously it is an upsetting subject, but it is done really well. It doesn't shy away from the difficult topics. It's important people are heard, and that is very much put across.

Considering it is pretty short, there is a lot packed in and you still feel like you know the characters. At least through Hannah and Clay's eyes. Very well done. Though I would have perhaps liked more insight into how the others felt who listened to the tapes.
