a super quick read, but so enjoyable!!!

its super tropey, and the fmc goes through the whole “i don’t have powers im weak and ugly and common” until a hot powerful prince whisks her away and then she realizes that “she’s the only one who can save the realm and she has so many super powerful abilities” but of course she wants so go back to her old life instead of living in a palace with not a care in the world

but somehow none of the tropey-ness made me want to dnf…i think the story moves quickly enough that the tropes feel somewhat necessary…and things seem to be getting more complex from this book forward

i like the idea that lara is the only one with a power to save the land and help it produce enough food for everyone…i like that she now has to be a lady in court and compete to marry the hot, horrible, arrogant, intriguing prince

i devoured this book in 2 days, and im jumping immediately into the next ones
