Unique and full world building: different cultures and languages (including a drum language what), magical powers that feel more like superpowers, religions based on a bird god and the earth, multiple magical creatures, human like and not and many more interesting elements

Themes of feminism, politics vs justice, finding and defining yourself as a separate and complete person, finding purpose in life, different forms of love etc etc

Overall an interesting story

ahhhhhhhh! read this now!!! can’t wait for the second one!!!! what can i even say about this book? there’s wonderful platonic and romantic relationships, ace rep, beautiful writing, lovable characters, etc.
this review is a mess but i think it gets the point across lol
