This was a cute, quick read if you are looking for sweet, small town romance vibes. It felt very insta-love to me. Everything just seemed to go so smoothly and I like more tension/angst in my romances, especially when the couple seems to fall too fast.

If you like Aurora Rose Reynolds’s other books you’ll like this one too. You’ve got your bossy, protective H and an h who is sweet and feisty but ultimately doesn’t put up much of a resistance. Fairly low angst with a smidge of suspense. One could try to say all her books are the same but I disagree. Her books tend to share a lot of the same elements but the stories are all very different. It’s those tried and true, safe and reliable elements ARR’s readers depend on and love wholeheartedly.
The h’s fiancée leaves insanely close to their wedding. She’s stuck going on this outdoor retreat for couples that the ex asked her to book. She meets H there, he’s guiding the trip and she’s missing a partner so does all the couples activities with her.
There’s a jealous OW on the trip who eventually gets over herself and focuses on her relationship. There’s a plot involving poachers that puts h in danger. The h’s ex doesn’t try to win her back but he is suspicious of her new relationship. He’d been cheating on her so eff him. All her family and friends are wary of her relationship but H wins then over.

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a cute romance. My first meet cute/insta love story and really liked it. Definitely recommend the audiobook while reading this story is soo good! Can’t wait to read the next two books in the series!
