Rushed
Adventures in Love, Book 1
By: Aurora Rose Reynolds
Narrated by: Avie Paige, Aaron Shedlock

Tanner is part owner in a wildlife excursion company. Leading a couples retreat, he meets Cybil. But where is her significant other? Recently broken up, Cybil decides to go on the planned trip despite she is alone, and is paired with Tanner for the trip. How will these two fair? Initially starting out on the wrong foot, we can only imagine, but life is full of surprises! Low angst, but incredibly romantic, this start to the Adventures in Love series is the perfect listen to make your heart warm. I loved it!

Avie Paige and Aaron Shedlock are a fabulous team. These two storytellers understand their characters and make them real. Paige gives Cybil an inner strength she didn't even know she had. She goes through a lot, and Paige's nuances lets us know exactly how she is feeling. Shedlock is one of my favorites, and he is perfect as Tanner. A little alpha, incredibly romantic and protective, he brings out fierce loyalty and passion this man has. The two are fabulous and make this enjoyable to listen to.

3.5 ⭐️

I’m not a huge fan of insta love, so that’s why I only rated it 3.5 stars. But despite that, it was still a really cute story and I enjoyed it.

This book was full of adventure, love and a surprise.

4.5/5

This book was sweet and started out with a great meet cute, but then turned quickly to instalove and proceeded to bore me to death. The love story was nothing really, they just decided to be together after a few days and then had to work out the logistics. There was some mild side drama with other characters but none of it had anything to do with them together. I do have to say that I hated the friends in this book. They were supposed to be these lifelong best friends (Jade for Cybil and Blake for Tanner) but they were both unsupportive negative downers. I know this spins off into a series which includes at least Blake, and I gotta say, I don’t care to read it.
This is my first time for this author and her writing style was ok, and I’ve heard that this isn’t the best example of her work so maybe I will give her another shot. But this was so mundane, I honestly was more interested in Oliver and Lauren and their drama, what was with them, were they having an affair? Did he go back to his wife? The only interesting part of the story was them and we were left hanging.
Anyway, this wasn’t bad per sei, just put me in a sugar coma.

This was my first Aurora Rose Reynolds book, and I listened to the audiobook.
I couldn't stop listening to it and I flew through this.

I loved the story and how they were on a couples retreat and the plot. There was a small suspense, drama, spice and laughter. It was really fun listen.

Tanner is a great book boyfriend. And he wasn't going to have Cybil breakup with him because of some "issue". He wanted to work through it and knew she would regret it, so knew there was no point of going through this.. which I LOVE that. NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP

I started the second audiobook in Adventures in Love, Risky, right after I finished Rushed.

these characters were really ready to move across the country for each other after like 2 weeks

rushed *pffffft* i'll say

Rushed is the first book in the Adventures in Love series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. This author is still rather new-to-me and I am so glad I discovered her since her books are so entertaining. The series is based on three ex-military men who started a business, Live Life Adventures, together which offers tours in the Montana wilderness. This is Tanner and Cybil’s story.
After being dumped days before her wedding with no explanation from her childhood friend and fiancé, Cybil needs to get away from their small town. Since she had already paid for a non-refundable couples retreat in Montana, she decided to go by herself. She never expected to fall for Tanner, one of the retreat owners.
Being the tour guide for the couple’s retreat, Tanner became Cybil’s partner while in the wilderness. Tanner and his friends had a rule of never sleeping with a client, but all bets were off at the end of the tour. Will they want to risk their hearts when they live miles apart?
The book was well written, and the pacing was perfect. Tanner and Cybil’s characters had many layers and the side characters really helped contribute to the story. Their adventure would not have been the same without the side characters and all their funny episodes. Cybil and Tanner had an instant spark in their cute-meet, which was unique. I really enjoyed the book and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

lighthearted relaxing medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This is probably closer to 3.75 but its easier to put 4.

I liked this. I thought it was fun it was engaging and I just liked both the characters. I have a niggle with how quick a timeline this was. I also thought the meeting was weird. Who the fuck goes to a couple retreat newly single regardless of it being nonrefundable. You know? Just off.

This all being said, it did set it up to be kinda amusing and quite a hot romance. If you just look at the love its fine. I don't hate it. If I overthink the timeline it dims it for me.
