Admittedly, I was veryyyy confused at the beginning of this book with this family tree. This person is related to this person but this other person is related to this person…WHAT!? Couldn’t keep up.
However, I figured it out about halfway through the book and then really started to enjoy myself. I really liked the mystery in this one, the stakes felt a little bit higher than the other books. I also have enjoyed the character development through the whole series and in this book in particular.
Alsoooo, just want to say that I have been TEAM JAMESON from the very beginning, so YESSSS my boy finally got the girl. I just love them.
Overall, really great series and excited to read the rest of them!

Wat een boek! Er gebeurt zo ongelooflijk veel, maar echt op een goede manier. Kon niet stoppen met lezen en heel benieuwd naar boek 4 en de volgende reeks!
I liked this series. I've had a difficult time rating and had to sit on it for a bit. The narrator is great (narrating is so difficult and so much work), but I had a hard time with how she chose to voice the Hawthorn brothers. All of them sound the same and they all sounded like really stereotypical southern 'hicks'—not like they'd grown up with silver spoons in their mouths.
The mysteries throughout the series are all nicely done and add a lot of intrigue--the way Barnes ends the book is satisfying and pertinent for today's world with its strange billionaire unbalance. The narration has gotten in the way of how I view the characters. I think I'll give it a couple years and re-read with my eyeballs and see how I feel about it all.
