I still really did enjoy this. I didn’t find it as good as the other two, however.

4,5⭐️

So I decided to reread the first 2 books in the inheritance games series because the final book came out.
So this is a review of all three books.

The inheritance games is so so good. The plot twists are incredible! I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that the author can write such a difficult story. I mean the hawthorn family is complicated as it is but the hawthorn house? All the secret passageways? I find her so incredibly talented. I loved the short chapters and that it was fast paced. All the characters have such strong personalities and they all have a story of their own.

Reading The Hawthorne Legacy for the second time was harder than the first time. It didn’t read as fast as the first time. I think there was a lot of filler writing, especially in the beginning. But there are a lot of details and names you have to remember because it gets confusing when you can’t remember. There were a lot of things I already forgot so it was good reading the first two books again before starting The Final Gambit. There are so many plot twists that I couldn’t keep up. There is also character development which I love!! And the love triangle!!!!

The Final Gambit is so exceptionally great. The ending is so so beautiful and I’m so sad that I finished the series. It was a great escapism to get lost in Hawthorne house and feel nostalgic. There was even more character development and even more new characters which tbh confused me even more. I can’t believe how the author came up with this story. It has so many layers and plot twists. The final gambit gave me everything I wanted and more. I had the most amazing time reading this series.

Don't talk to me 😭

The Final Gambit was a thrill to read for me, because it is an excellent conclusion to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the mysteries and riddles in the story and reading the book as they unravel. Furthermore, the reader eventually finds out in The Final Gambit why Tobias Hawthorne chose Avery Kylie Grambs to inherit his fortune. Moreover, I enjoyed witnessing Grayson’s character development throughout the story and Jeniffer Lynn keeping the reader on their toes in regard to the love triangle between Avery, Grayson and Jameson. However, my advice for the reader is to pay attention to the family tree of the Hawthorne’s and how it relates to the Laughlin's one, because it becomes crucial in this book. Additionally, some of the pages of the book contain excessive rambling, which is why I gave the book 4 stars and not 5 stars.

If the reader does not pay attention to the family tree then it could easily become overwhelming and confusing for the reader. I would recommend this series for any reader that enjoys a storyline that contains riddles upon riddles and traps upon traps that unravel as the events of the story unfold. Furthermore, there is also a well-written love triangle and a bunch of side-romance plots.
