This book was a fascinating read. It starts with a startlingly clever premise: what if no one remembered you? From there, Claire North takes on a dizzying journey that is part heist, part dystopian future, part a meditation of how our memory of ourselves and others shapes who we are and who we can become. One of the best books I've read so far in 2017!

I loved the idea of this book, it's such a great premise. The two intertwined stories were fascinating in themselves, but the way the book chose to end was irritating. I feel as though it was all just a ramble with no real reason. Sure, life can be like that, but I like to come out of a book with a clear resolution and I feel as though this did not tie up any loose ends at all. So many questions remain, almost like it's set up for a sequel that may actually answer them...

I felt no affinity with the main character. The story seemed rushed and flitted from place to place very quickly. There were too many diverging plots.

Wow what a read. This book makes you think and it made me want to travel. At times I loved it and at times I was bored. But over all I loved the concept and I enjoyed reading something different to what I usually read.

I really liked "Touch", and this novel has a similar feel to it, also exploring ideas of self. Hope cannot be remembered when out of sight - she excels at thievery, she longs for connection. North is a lovely writer, and the narrative flows beautifully, moving between times and places with ease.

Loved the book, not sure what I thought about the ending, and I'm more paranoid than ever before. Thanks Claire!
