They Both Die at the End is a masterclass in world building and detail work, and the format really, really works. definitely not a lighthearted book by any means (shocking, i know, for a book with this title), but there’s a lot of joy and life packed into these pages.

Great book with some fantastic plot twists!! Amazing tiny little parts that are recognised and mean something towards the end!! A great read and very enticing only took me 2 days as I was so eager!!

I wanted a sad book that would break and shatter my heart. Safe to say I found it. This is a wonderful book and I honestly don’t know if knowing that they both die at the end makes it better or worse. It was very nice to get to know Mateo and Rufus.

After 2n read
I don't remember crying this much when I read it for the first time. Maybe it's so much sadder now because I have already lost Mateo and Rufus once before and because I know what's going to happen. Whatever the reason: I cried a lot. A lot lot. So much. It hurt more than the first time around.
all for a cup of tea, honestly.

theres no way its not gonna be predictable, from the title u alr know they're gonna die and frm the reviews u alr know theyre gonna fall for each other but like ITS JUST EVERYTHING THEY DO AND SAY IN BETWEEN I WAS NOT. PREPARED. (anticipated it yes but my heart just hurts!)

it was rly static n slow paced at first it kinda bothered me but thats what made the story so real like? the awkwardness n the tension n the anticipation ? i felt alll of that n the characters are so realistic n funny i luv them sm.

ALSO! all of the characters are connected in one way or another n they have the pov of diff characters and each pov starts the exact same way vv intersting n well thought out.

writing is normal contemporary author writing but what made it super lovable is that u can so clearly see the difference between the characters just through the writing in every pov chapter. it really is one of those books you won’t stop thinking about for days :(
