It was a fun concept with having three branches of magic but I think the lack of world building made everything fall very flat and forced. Magic was the whole thing but it felt like no one could really do magic, especially when the main is supposed to be a prodigy apprentice of a powerful sorcerer. I liked the combination of true crime with fantasy but just think it had more potential. Also what was with the first chapter? I kept waiting for the twist but it was not hard to follow.

DNF at 30%. I really hate DNF'ing books, but I can't do it. The writing is poor and repetitive. I also can't seem to get a grasp on the characters, resulting in me not caring about them. I was hoping I could get through this one because it's so short, but in 2024 I'm trying to no longer force myself to finish books I'm not enjoying. 2 stars because I liked the idea of the story.

É uma leitura bem rápida e simples. Achei gostoso e amei a premissa, mas eu esperava mais....talvez se tivessem umas 100 páginas a mais, traria um aprofundamento melhor.

A única coisa que eu não gostei foi o estilo narrativo, da personagem narrar quebrando a quarta parede. Mas isso é gosto pessoal. De resto, gostei basgante!
