This book is for people who had a good relationship with their mother and family. At least for the most part.
It was beautifully written and meaningful. I loved hearing about this cultural experience from Zauner's perspective.
However, I'll now see myself back to the side of readers who relate to "I'm Glad My Mom Died."

This was a fantastic book. The people, the food, the grief. It felt almost as if I could feel the pain through the pages. I loved every minute of it, and now am tempted to look up Maangchi on Youtube and see if she is still there (if you know, you know). I am not mixed-race, nor am I Korean (or from anywhere in Asia), but this book made me feel almost seen. I've struggled with manic depression for most of my life and while Michelle Zauner never strictly addresses it, she does make it obvious that she is struggling. I would definitely recommend reading this book, no matter your circumstances or reading preferences <3

Amazing. Impressed with her descriptiveness. Great book about life, love, and loss. Puts things in perspective
