A poetry book for women who are heart broken, but need a reminder of their strength and soft power. The book is also one of the most honest interpretations of how misogyny and patriarchy play into romance and heartbreak from the perspective of a woman.
Yes, I did cry especially during the first half of the book.

same as last review but i liked this one a bit more
the femininity.
the whole “instagram quote blah blah blah” i get it when you are talking of subjects of romance, but when subjects of trauma and the shared experience of a women of colour…. don’t even try. your ignorance is showing, and it’s always the white women, like just say you don’t understand the complexities that brown women go through

I don’t know much about poetry or what makes ‘good’ poetry, but listening to the audiobook of Rupi Kaur reciting her work hit me hard. It stirred up all kinds of emotions that I don’t think I would have experienced just reading the book on my own. I highly recommend the audiobook — it’s just over an hour long.
