This was a fun read, and I’ll definitely continue reading the series. The main character is funny and charming in a kick your ass kind of way. Loved the sexual tension between her and the vampire... cannot wait for that to explode!

Darious and Reagan...
So a few things brought me to this series... I listened to it with Audible so it was definitely Nicole Poole that brought me to the series. I've loved what she has done with all the characters in ALL of Dannika Dark's books so when I saw she narrated these too, I was all in.
I've been listening to a lot of romance and needed a total break from reality and the start of this series did not disappoint to give me something very different.
I see a lot of similarities between Breene's and Dark's writing. . . the spunky heroine and the shifter/immortal/etc that they fall in love with. I don't think that Reagan is as powerful as Raven and although they have similar humor and kick-assedness, they are pretty different. I'd like to see a little more grit from Reagan and am hoping that it comes through in Book 2 & 3.
And I'd definitely like to see some hot times with our sexy vamp.
This series starts off strong so I am hopefully I will hang in through book 3. Time will tell. Really looking forward to seeing what else Breene has out there. I often need to break up all the romances with something a little different.

This was my second read of this book, but I didn’t remember having read it. A solid Urban Fantasy Romance: the heroine is feisty with a dark secret and she has to work with a broody Alpha. The mystery is fine, but the ending is a bit lack-luster. I remembered several set-pieces, but the final reveals didn’t stick with me. I don’t think they were fully earned.
