Cute little story for the Christmas season. The movie extends the characters, offers more action and benefits from the soundtrack while in the book the message remains in the center.

I also loved the version narrated by Liam Neeson, which you can find on YouTube. It's only 16 minutes long and will help you to get into the right mood for Christmas.

"The Polar Express" is such a beautiful story that weaves a child's wonderous belief about Christmas into a thrilling ride to the North Pole aboard a train. The illustrations and scenes add to the overall mystique of the work, pulling us in and reminding us of the feeling Christmas gave us when we were younger.

At its core, "The Polar Express" is about belief and how that enraptures and colors all of life with meaning. The fact that setting is around Christmas, the birth of our Savior Jesus, adds to the layers of this theme. Kudos to Chris Van Allsburg and also a great film.

Everything about this book is so captivating and magical! It’s definitely captures the magic of Christmas. I didn’t get it from the library this year, but my kids remember it from last year and keep asking about it.
