Reading this after having seen the movie - many times - I have more appreciation for it than I likely would've had otherwise. Many aspects I liked about the movie especially were inventions of the scriptwriters - such as the Ghost, or the relationships among the children. Nevertheless, it's a sweet story. The art is much prettier than the movie.
