Es una historia maja, pero sin más.
No entiendo por qué está clasificado como libro para niñxs: las ilustraciones son oscuras y el mensaje va dirigido claramente a personas adultas.

Honestly much better than the movie

I know this is a hugely popular book, buts not for me. I just saw the Tom Hanks movie version for the first time recently and I found it to be very odd to me. I thought maybe reading the book would shed some light on its appeal. It did not. The book is even more condensed than the outlandish movie. It’s kinda creepy to think that there is an unexplained train picking up random children in the middle of the night to whisk them off through dangerous terrain.

I have adored this book since I was little. I read it every Xmas Eve.

How have I never read this book?! Setting aside the fact that it's a Christmas classic so that should have been a reason for me to read it right there, it's a VAN ALLSBURG BOOK?! I'm overcome... The story is heart-warming and it's clear why it's so meaningful to many readers. I found it to be a little slow, but I didn't mind too much because it has such beautiful illustrations. I also loved the ending--Christmas magic!

For: readers looking for a winter/Christmas classic; those wanting a book that celebrates the joys of Christmas magic.

Possible red flags: some readers may find the book a little slow.

I never read this book as a child (or watched the movie until I was around 14), but for some reason it feels nostalgic. Both the writing and illustrations are beautiful.
