PopSugar Challenge 2015: A book that takes place in your hometown (x) (ehm, partially takes place in GR, which counts for me)
This book is read by most children around the holidays. I like this book because it teaches the reader about honesty and believing in one's self. This book takes the reader on an exciting journey that they will keep with them forever.

A classic Christmas story of finding the spirit of the holiday. It does seem a bit emotional and sad for that type of book though, especially the very end.
Not my absolute favourite but I do re-read it every Christmas Eve, mostly because I love the end
Although this book is very popular, I feel that it is a bit long for most read alouds in early elementary. I didn't feel the pictures were engaging enough for children and so the book can get a bit boring. If using this book as part of a Polar Express unit during the holidays, then this book could be more enjoyable when coupled with the excitement of hot cocoa, pajama day, etc.
