Not bad, just not for me. I think there's a lot of value in this book for someone who believes in god or wants to believe in god, but for me... not so much.

a daily reflection on how to focus on our purpose in life, and why that purpose is Jesus, Himself. This book is very interactive with questions at the end of every chapter, it is also pretty practical because in each chapter there are some steps that we can follow to achieve our purpose in life.
This book had been recommended to me by a lot of people when I started reading it. I was in a point in my life when I was thinking about my future a lot, so it was definitely the right time for reading this book.
The book gave me a lot of encouragement and determination the find God's plan for my life. There was especially one sentence that I kept repeating to myself: "Don't waist your life in a job that does not reflect your heart." (not a direct quote)
However, there were parts of the book that I read very quickly and didn't completely agree with. When I talk about this book to others, I usually tell them to be selective: take the good things and forget the rest.

This is truthfully a DNF for me. I appreciated the book, and I like the idea of having one chapter a day to ponder on. Unfortunately my heart just wasn't in it, which it should be when devoting your time to God, and the author made several statements that I just didn't agree with.
I heard about Rick Warren through the controversy that surrounded him being picked by Obama for the inauguration. A few months later I was at a friend's house and saw it on the shelf and asked to borrow it so I could see what the fuss was about.
So, I didn't read this book from cover to cover, doing his 30 day program as the book suggests (frankly the book is poorly written and he makes the same points pretty much over and over), but I did read most of it and found it really helpful to me. I am a Progressive Christian and I usually adhere to the "take what you like and leave the rest" with this kinda stuff, and I found a lot of stuff to like. That doesn't mean I agree with everything Warren says or does, but I found some good motivation, inspiration, and spirit in here....and then I gave it back to my friend.

I thought it was a easy to read and understand book. I read it with a small group at church and it was a great book to read parts of and discuss with the group weekly. It is good if you are wanting to looking into what spiritual gifts you may have. We also read three of the smaller books in the series that follows which I also really liked.
I don't find this a great representation of what my faith stands for. Ended up having more questions than before I read the book.
