It's almost disturbing how much I loved this when it is such a creepy, weird, horrific book. Everything in this book is creepy and understated, I've never read anything like it. I can't really tell you what the book is about without spoiling it completely, but the main theme is that nobody and nothing is perfect, and that is just fine. I love it, although there was times when I thought the book might collapse into a ableist mess. Fortunately, it did not, and as such, I adore this book.

I could not put this book down. Read a couple of the reviews that gave this book 5 stars and you'll be convinced to read it too. Both my 13 and 16 year old teens also read the book and we all agree that it is perfectly creepy.

There is just something so frightening about horror from a child's eyes. The audiobook is great.

A creepy read made creepier from reading it from the perspective of an adult. A book about how we're all imperfect and how wanting to shun that can ruin us all.
Graphic: Mental illness

Minor: Child death
An Almond-esque fairy tale from Kenneth Oppel. The hardback comes with a gorgeous dust jacket, and the book also features illustrations from Jon Klassen. A very creepy story!
THE NEST is genuinely creepy and disturbing and all of you who have told me my fear of wasps is irrational ARE DANG LIARS.
This is a wonderfully paced, and well written, creepy little tale. If you are looking for something haunting to warm you up for spooky reads and movies this fall, start here, and start now.
What a strange book. I definitely didn’t understand the concept when I first started it, nor did I think it was particularly good but morbid curiosity led me to finish it and I’m glad I did. It was an interesting and strange tale but it was well done by Oppel (an author I have respect for). Still wondering how he got the idea for this book though.
