What is there to even say. Disappointment at the end. A spider??? Not nearly enough turtle stuff, or too much? I’ll return for a real review later I’m too irritated right now
usage of the f slur and n word coupled with 2hr long chapters are leaving me to dnf this; sad bc i love the movies and the characters but the book seems overly descriptive and led to me getting a little bored

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
IT by Stephen King….. what a monster of a book, both inside and out! You know a book is going to be long when, other than the sheer size of it, it’s broken up into 5 specific parts with small parts in between. And then on top of that each part is broken into chapters but each chapter actually has its own chapters! Phew! This book could have been much shorter than it was, in true King style it was very wordy and went off on a few too many tangents. Some tangents, although related to the story, just didn’t seem necessary to me. However, in saying that, I enjoyed the story and despite it taking me so long to read it, it didn’t feel like it dragged. IT is not only a story about a literal monster but also of friendship and beating personal “monsters”. The story floats between past (1958) and present (1985), from the view of the” Loser’s” and weaves together nicely. The 90’s version of the movie has always been one of my favourite movies so I was worried the book would ruin it for me, whilst the book definitely has more scenes and details I think (hope!) I might be alright. Now I’ve finally finished the book I feel the need to rewatch the movie and possibly track down the other versions too that I have never watched.
