The first two books in the series follows Stella, who after her mother disappears, is forced to live on her own. She receives a letter from an estranged rich aunt, and her whole life changes because of that letter. Stella goes from being a loner to having a group of friends that are willing to do anything for her. Stella also meets Poe, who is set on not getting attached, but he can’t get Stella out of his head. The plot twists and turns due to Stella’s new role in her mother’s hometown and it kept me on my toes the whole time!!

I am in LOVE with these characters!! There are a decent amount of characters in the book, which can sometimes be hard to read, but Samantha executes each character effortlessly. Stella is a great leading character and I loved to see the development of Poe’s and Stella’s story.

This was such a great story!
I got hooked from the beginning to the end and I need to read the next books in the series because they are so addictive. From the family drama to the characters and the chemistry between them , everything is moving at a fast pace and I just couldn’t stop reading.
Let’s see what the next one brings in because I need that happily ever after.

Firstly I can’t believe this is her debut novel! I absolutely loved seeing Stella settle into her new life with her best friend Sunday by her side, Sunday is the best friend everyone needs!! Poe is the complete alpha from when she meets him in the airport and straight away there’s chemistry between them

So I found this author and this series as a recommendation pop up from amazon and I instantly had to download it because this type of book and series is my JAMMMM… I devoured Fragile Things in a few hours and had to jump into the next book in the series. This book had everything I look for when finding something great to read and this was the authors debut which you could not tell by her writing. You get all the secrets, all the lies, all the angst and lets not forget that sexual tension is REAL!! Stella and Poe were two amazing characters that you cant help but fall in love with. Stella is a complete bada** and Poe is the alpha that we all swoon after…. I am so glad this bad boy popped up as a recommendation and I cant wait to dive deeper into this new world.

Weeellll i’ll be!

I’ll be absolutely damned. It’s been a while since I read a high school kinda book. This though....it did all the things I needed it to.

Stella only wants one thing...to be close to her mom and she finds that closeness in the life she’s building with her new cute and Auntie Cecily.

As rocky as things start out, the bombs that are dropped, the secrets kept, and even the rollercoaster with her and Poe I couldn’t have asked for this story to go in any other direction!

Fantastic way to start my february, can’t wait to read the second book! And I absolutely can’t wait to read about Sunday & Payne, love them together!

Fragile Things
is the first book in the Folkestone Sins duology and tells the story of Stella and Poe.

Fragile Things is Samantha Lovelock’s debut novel and it was amazing. After finishing the first chapter, I was immediately hooked. I wanted to know more about Stella and her past. Fragile Things was such a well-written and addictive read, and I would’ve finished it in one sitting if I weren’t as tired as I was.

Stella is one of my all-time favourite characters because she’s really fierce although she suffers from her anxiety. I loved reading in her POV and discovering more about her family. Poe is your typical ‘I don’t want her to fall for me’ guy and I couldn’t resist him. The way Samantha Lovelock described Poe… UGH I want him! I also really loved Sunday, she’s such a good friend for Stella.

Something that I really liked in Fragile Things was reading sort of the same scene in both perspectives. Sometimes I hate it because it’s repetitive, but I loved it in Fragile Things. You get to know more about what happened in that certain scene.

Fragile Things was such a good book, and I really enjoyed it. I think that Samantha Lovelock did an excellent job, and I was really surprised that Fragile Things is her debut novel. I loved every bit of Fragile Things and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second and final book in the Folkestone Sins series!

Fragile Things is the first book in Samantha Lovelock’s Folkestone Sins Series.

Stella’s life hasn’t been easy and the first few chapters describe that so well. However, her world changes entirely when an unexpected package arrives and she takes the chance on an aunt she’s never met, in a town across the country.

The immediate attraction between Stella and Poe is magnetic, but they don’t know the reason why. As the story builds the intensity and goosebumps induced infatuation builds.

The POV from Stella and Poe helps to give the reader insight into each of the main character's thoughts, feelings and backstories, and is key to the overall story.

The standard high school drama is of course told in this story, but it fits perfectly in the world created. There’s also a few darker elements which some readers might find triggering.

There’s so many hidden secrets and mysteries around this story that I can’t wait to read the second book, Fractured Things.

Favourite quote:
“Thank you,” she begins earnestly, “for trusting me enough to share with me. I’ll always keep your secrets, and if you decide you want to explore any of those memory holes, I’ll be standing at the edge beside you, with a miner’s hat and a boxed lunch.”

Page turning masterpiece!!

This book was fantastic! I would’ve never guessed it was this author’s first published book, it’s that good! The characters and relationships were all very well written and I definitely love myself a feisty FMC and hot alpha! This story checked off those boxes along with some fantastic best friend roles! The twists and turns had me finishing this book in one sitting. I can’t wait for book 2!
